They get dirty VERY easily, but SHOX are the most comfortable shoes and these are not any different. If you are having trouble choosing colors and it doesn't matter, get the black. My durability rating below and four star above is based on hard they are to keep clean because dirt shows easily. I am neurotic about keeping new shoes clean; this is only my third pair of everyday shoes since 2002 (all SHOX). After just a day traveling in a car, dirt really showed below the ankle on the outer side. All said, I'd rather spend time cleaning them then sending them back. I like them that much.
